Staysure Cruise Insurance: Optional Extras

If you would like to add extra cover to your Staysure cruise insurance policy, we can help with that. Below is a list of additional cover options available on your Staysure policy:

Staysure Cruise Plus Cover

Available on Staysure Comprehensive policies only

Off on a cruise holiday? This covers things like not being able to dock at a scheduled port due to bad weather, and cabin confinement.

European FCDO Travel Advice Extension

This add-on allows you to travel to Europe with a valid travel insurance Staysure policy, even if the FCDO have advised against ‘all but essential’ travel. Cover includes £1,000 towards extra accommodation or travel expenses if the FCDO advise travellers to return home, and cover for COVID-19 when abroad as long as you have had your recommended COVID-19 vaccinations. But you will not be covered for any other reason that caused the FCDO to change their travel advice.

Winter Sports

Available on Comprehensive policies only

This add-on can help if you have a medical emergency while taking part in winter sports activities. It can also help reclaim expenses when you lose or damage your ski equipment as well as cover the costs of unused ski passes, piste closures and avalanches. Winter sports cover is already included as standard when you choose a Comprehensive Annual Staysure policy and covers you for two trips, up to a total of 21 days.

Connecting Flight Cover

If you’re taking more than one connecting flight to reach your destination or home, it’s important you have the Staysure optional Connecting Flight add-on. This then extends your cover for connecting flights if cancelled or delayed.

Excess Waiver

Available on Comprehensive policies only

If you need to make a claim, having an Excess Waiver means you won’t have to pay any excess from your own pocket for each item you’re claiming for. This can’t be added retrospectively and does not apply to Terrorism Cancellation, Car Hire Excess Waiver or Gadget cover.

Single Item Cover

Available on Comprehensive policies only

This option increases your single item, Personal Baggage cover beyond the standard £400, up to £1,000. To do this you’ll need to describe the item you’re covering and Single Item cover can’t be added retrospectively.

100 Day Upgrade

Available on Comprehensive Annual policies only

If you’re 70 and under, you can extend your 50 day trip duration limit to 100 days for one trip.

Terrorism Cancellation Cover

Available on Comprehensive policies only

Be covered for choosing to cancel your holiday if there has been a terrorist act in the past 42 days within 40 miles of where you’re going on holiday. FCDO do not have to advise against travel in order to make a claim.

Travel Disruption Cover

This add-on covers you for cancellation or cutting your holiday short if the FCDO advises against all, or all but essential travel to your destination because of an unforeseen incident such as earthquake, fire, flood or hurricane.
